Most consider Giannis the best Basketball player in the world. Even the few who don’t, concede that he’s in the Top 3. When you consider the shortlist of players who have received that “crown”, players like Micheal Jordan, Kareem Abduljabbar, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James etc, he’s clearly keeping company with the immortals of basketball.
Giannis Adetokunbo (to give him his proper Nigerian name), a few hours ago, put up 54 points and 19 rebounds in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s the second time in 5 days he’s scored at least 50 points. Crazy numbers.
Another interesting fact. The game ended 106 – 105 in favour of Giannis Milwaukee Bucks. With his 54 points, Giannis scored more than half of his team’s total points. Freakish!!
But this shocks no one any more. For the Greek Freak has been putting up crazy numbers in the NBA for a few years now. His 30-10-5 (points, rebounds and assists) in 4 consecutive seasons is unprecedented in the 75 year history of the NBA. He’s on pace to make it 5 seasons in a row. In other words, he’s Inevitable!!
Later this February, he will Captain one of the 2 teams in the NBA All-Star Game. Another way of saying he’s the All-Star of the All-Stars. Truly, this Greek son of Nigerian parents is Basketball Royalty.
